Day 51 - Cruising Bernkastel to Koblenz

PWe cruised all night downstream, passing through several lochs, arriving at Koblenz before lunch.

The Moselle joins the Rhine River at Koblenz, where the tip of land is called the "German Corner".  Here stands an enormous statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I on a horse - he was the first emporer of Germany after unification in 1871.

The first excursion for today was a guided walking tour of the town, which is attractive but nowhere near as quaint as the previous two villages we have visited.

High above the river is the mighty Ehrenbreitstein Fortress which is accessible by cable car.  All Scenic tourists travelled by this cable car to the medieval castle in the late afternoon for "Happy Hour" before dinner.

Tonight was a live Musical Theatre Highlight Show in the lounge after dinner.

Great view going up in the cable car !!  Rainy today today.
