Started with the usual breakfast in the hotel, a trip to the airport and the usual waiting around and then of course the plane was late arriving into Edinburgh. It took 15 minutes to get the aero bridge to the plane when it did arrive, then the usual baggage off and new cases on plus fuel and food, took over an hour and we were well aware that every minute counted as the scheduled time on the ground at Frankfurt was only 65 minutes.
We arrived at Frankfurt with 37 minutes to get to our next flight, sounds like heaps of time, but not at Frankfurt.
To see your elderly scribe and his bedraggled wife running with heavy hand luggage, passports, boarding passes, cameras, etc through a passenger- filled corridor down 6 yes 6 flights of stairs, then through a tunnel under the plane parking bays (about 750 metres long) then another 6 flights up, then another 500 metres to the stairs to go down to the bus, was a sight that could be used in the Benny Hill Show. As we rushed towards the doors the bus was waiting and we just squeezed on for transit to the plane to Wroclaw.
Red faced from running/struggling walking in 35 degree heat today, we wondered why the hell we were doing all this.
Then we had a cold beer and remembered we were having fun.
I think tomorrow we are going to find out that Wroclaw has a very interesting past and Poland is a country worth visiting.
