Day 38 - Berlin.

The city that was once divided by razor wire and the mine blistered Berlin Wall is now a colourful, creative, cosmopolitan hub.
Arrived in Berlin this afternoon after a short flight, and went for a wander through the busy central streets around our accommodation.  Plenty to see - street artists, huge shopping complexes, human statues (the ones that fix a pose and don't move for perhaps 20 minutes) and plenty of evidence of life before the wall!  There are countless buses on the roads for both locals and tourists, as well as trams.  It is still hot and tiring walking around the streets.

This television Tower in central Berlin was constructed in 1969 to a height of 368 metres.  It dominates the skyline from all directions.  We are staying close by at Alexanderplatz.

Trams are modern and fast.  The Germans can certainly engineer great infrastructure.

This is a mobile BBQ.  These guys move around the square selling many types of grilled sausages.  The gas fire seems incredibly close to the cooks but they are happy go lucky and the locals and tourists love it.
