Day 22 - London

Today we undertook a full day tour to Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor.

It was wild and windy at Stonehenge, but the stones were much larger than expected.  The placement again allows the sun to shine through a well-designed gap on both the summer and winter solstices.

Bath was extremely busy with tourists.  Using audio guides we looked through the ancient baths which were favoured by the aristocrats to bathe in the hot spring waters for well-being and to get rid of some of their body odours!!

At Windsor we walked through the castle, viewing many rooms where the ostentation of past and present royalty is displayed.  Amongst the velvet, paintings, and gilt, there are copious quantities of guns and swords, and full suits of armour worn by warriors in the past.

Much bigger than we expected, it is almost a village inside with burial sites dating back through many years of the Royal Family.
